Plot:
THE BEGINNING AS WRITTEN BY THE SCRIBE
Many myths and lore is spoken of our kind all through out the world. Though we came from Europe and all her past histories. Our beginnings rests in Rome. Ancient and powerful cities, and it was ruled by a king. A king who did not believe in Gods or angels. His name was Lycaeon. He openly scoffed the beliefs of his fellows and began to work on trying to disprove that the Gods existed.
This angered Zeus, the king of all Gods. He sent some of his Gods down hidden as human to King Lycaeon's doorstep. They were dressed as royals from a far off nation and many whispers began about their whereabouts. None of them would show their faces and none of them seemed to want to look at the humans. They stayed the night and each night locked their doors and said they had no use for the maids that King Lycaeon so graciously offered.
He was soon being angered by their trysts. The next day the moment he was about to summon them when a goat herder came into his throne room. The story the boy told was that there were wolves running down the country side. Big, much bigger than average wolves. Then the next they disappeared behind a hill. The goat herder was in shock and the King paled when he heard the next part of the boys tale. Around the other side of the hill there were not wolves running out but people each of them described just as the people the king had in his castle.
The goat herder was dismissed and King Lycaeon had to sit and think. He came up with an idea. There was a man that was to be put to death on that very hour. He would see if these were Gods or not. He ordered the body to not be disposed of but made into a dish that would be served to their guest that night. If they were Gods they would know that there was human meat in their dishes and if they weren't they would eat the dishes whole heartedly and never know the difference . . . so would he and his comrades at the tables. Lycaeon knew there would be a heavy price to pay for this act, for cannibalism was greatly frowned upon in the world. Not even Gods would ever indulge in such an act.
That night there was festivities and the strangers danced and mingled among their fellows. Then dinner was served each man and woman sat down and divulged and the new dishes that the king had ordered. The humans fell upon the dishes with such vigor. That all was devoured but King Lycaeon noticed with a heavy heart that not one of his guests touched a scrap of food but looked around with disgust. Each of them stood and by an unbeknownst power the heavy doors fell shut to their own accord and the candles were dimmed.
Each of the strangers removed their face masks and they were revealed to the astonished room as Gods. Their skin lighting up the room with a luminous glow. They pointed to King Lycaeon and said in unison, "For your disgrace at the indulgence of human flesh you shall be cursed. For the moon is full this night each and all of you shall be cursed to run the country side as wolves and devour the flesh you so consumed tonight!"
With their department the rest of the people in room began to shift. Painful cries echoed out and each of the humans were changed from there after into wolves. The human sounds turned into wolf whimpers and cries, and from that night on they ran the country side as wolves. Ravaging and changing more into wolves.
This be the truth of our beginning, believe if you wish, remember King Lycaeon the oldest of us all may have been the first to gain control of his curse before meeting his end at the hand of the English.
